Korean food, a cuisine that I need to try!
Sometimes avoiding dairy and gluten makes ordering at restaurants a trial and a challenge. That’s one of the reasons why I LOVE Asian cuisine. There’s nothing like opening a menu and feeling free! I have lots to choose from, and I can actually order something without asking the waiter 20 questions.
And the biggest plus…so many healthy options!
I love Vietnamese and Japanese food, but curious diner that I am, I have to admit that I’ve never experienced Korean food. Living in multi-cultural Southern California, I must remedy this soon!
I’ve read about an event in Los Angeles last month, a special Korean Hansik dinner hosted by the Asia Society. The dinner highlighted foods traditionally eaten by the royal family. Lots of healthy veggies, sweet potato noodles, persimmon, pumpkin, and all of it beautifully presented. The menu and photos look so wonderful!
There are lots of Korean bbq places around, but I’d like to try a Korean restaurant offering dishes like these. I’ve heard that Seoul Jung is good but slated to close soon. Anyone out there have any recommendations?
