EdIbLe… San Diego?
I took a train ride to San Diego for the long and lovely weekend, and I had my health food stalker mind blown twice in one night… that is right, twice. As a lover of Indian food, both for its taste and the health benefits of a good curry, I always enjoy trying out new Indian restaurants. Bombay, a Northern Indian Restaurant in Hillcrest, provided the first mouth-watering experience of the...

This is one of the side dishes that I prepared for my catering event! Corn is back at the farmers market, and at six corns for three dollars, you really can’t beat the taste and the price of this delicious vegetable.  Corn is fun because it can be incorporated into lots of different types of cooking and the sweet flavor is very versatile. This corn recipe is really quick and easy! Sautéed...

One of my favorite quick, healthy, grab and go meals is a smoothie.  Since I am the Health Food Stalker and try to avoid loading up on sugar I try to make my own.  In the past I’d grab a Protein Berry smoothie at a famous smoothie emporium but the 42 grams of sugar made me really energetic and then I’d crash.  No fun at allllll. So I’ve become a smoothie expert, and now am...

You probably already knew this, but
Just in case you didn’t know, to keep your fresh herbs perky and smelling great, keep them in a cup of water in your fridge.  Herbs do not like being horizontal in a plastic grocery bag. Can you blame them? Think of them as fresh cut flowers; change out the water, cut the stems every few days, and don’t forget about them!  If you do this you will save money on buying herbs AND you...

I know that this isn’t a fashion blog, but I think you have all caught on to the fact that I am a little bit of a tree hugger.  Recycling materials is a really easy way to make your life just a little more eco-friendly, and this awesome vintage jewelry website can help! Wearing vintage cuts down on the amount of new materials that need to be produced AND it looks just as great ooorrr even...

Who knew a squash could be such a party?  The worst thing about pasta is that you get full before you want to be done eating, right? The pasta sauce is just SO good and the twirling of the spaghetti is too pleasurable to put the fork down.  Well, here is a solution… the vehicle for the sauce is maintained in this dish AND you can still twirl the squash around your fork.  I know, it’s...

Come Grace us with your presence.
These are the egg-free chocolate chip cookies, brought to you by the Health Food Stalker, that will be available at Grace!  They are so delicious. You will have to come in and try them!  The grand opening will be in about two more months!!! I have found that creating moisture in egg-free baked goods can be tricky, especially if you want the baked good to have any sort of shelf life.  Be careful...

Breakfast of Champions.
Lately I have had a lot of people ask me to recommend a breakfast cereal. Of course most cereal comes from a box… that is lined with a bag… that is shipped across the country… BUT that is not to say it is the worst thing in the world.  Some people LOVE cereal, and to them I say, “You eat your cereal!!”  Just try cutting out other boxed food that you eat when you can....
